Son Masayoshi (born August 11, 1957, in Tosu, Saga Prefecture) is a Japanese entrepreneur and investor, and the founder, chairman, and CEO of SoftBank Group Corp. At 16 he moved alone to the United States, graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and founded SoftBank in Japan in 1981.

Under the vision of “making people happy through the information revolution,” he co-founded Yahoo Japan, introduced the iPhone to Japan by acquiring Vodafone Japan, and in 2017 established the $100 billion SoftBank Vision Fund to accelerate AI and technology investment globally.
